G10. ISIS (2017) - Will ISIS survive? If not, who will take its place?

Description: Is ISIS (ISIL, DAESH or the Islamic State) here to stay or is it just the most recent terrorist group that will inevitably give way to the next? Who are these people? What of al Qaeda, Iran’s “The Quds,” Boko Haram, al Shabaab PKK and other terrorists groups that spread fear not only in Africa and the Middle East, but all over the world? We will look into how ISIS started --- how they have grown – how they recruit --- how they are financed – and what the future might hold for them. We also will discuss the spreading threat as ISIS has already reached the shores of North America. How can ISIS be defeated? Will they be defeated – or simply fade into insignificance as al Qaeda and other terrorist groups of old? We live in dangerous times and our military is stretched all over the world keeping us safe. Yet, it only takes a few ISIS terrorists to turn our world upside down (look to Paris, Boston Marathon, San Bernardino, and Orlando). Join us and bring your opinions, questions, and concerns.
