Description: Most historians place FDR with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as one of the top 3 U.S. Presidents. From 1933 to 1945, FDR was the only permanently disabled U.S. President ever elected, and the only U.S. President elected to office four times. FDR led the U.S. in his wheelchair from 1933 to 1945 through arguably the most severe crisis of the 20th century including the Great Depression and World War II. During an era when Fascism was in favor, FDR used his intelligence, uncanny political instinct, and social savvy to preserve and strengthen U.S. democracy and catapult the U.S. to the leading power in the world.
