March 14, 2019 - 9:00-11:00 am
Description: The United States and Canada are both democracies and have a shared history of British rule. However, the governments of the US and Canada developed in different ways. Canada is a constitutional monarchy using the British Parliamentary system. In contrast, the United States is a republic using the Congressional system. These two systems function in different ways and have unique advantages and disadvantages. This presentation will examine the two systems and how they differ. Time will also be given to examine the historical relationship between the US and Canada.
Purpose: Learn about the Canadian and US systems of government
