Description: Bonita Springs Utilities, Inc. (BSU) is a not-for-profit utility founded by local citizens in 1971. This member-owned cooperative provides service in the City of Bonita Springs, the Village of Estero and unincorporated south Lee County. Their mission is to provide safe, reliable potable water and wastewater treatment, emphasizing responsible protection of our resources at the most effective cost to all members. In 2018, BSU produced more than 3.68 billion gallons of potable water and treated 1.65 billion gallons of wastewater. The utility has come a long way from its humble origins to provide quality service to our area. Join us for this informative presentation on BSU's history, water and wastewater systems, emergency management, sustainability, and current and upcoming projects.
