The Spring Run Eco Club invites you to join us for a tour of the Lee County Resource Recovery campus in Buckingham. We will be guided through the recycling plant (MRF) and waste to energy plant (WTE). Things to know: • Please wear closed walking shoes (tennis shoes are good) and a shirt that covers at least the top half of your arm. • Once you enter the property, approach the scale house using the far right-hand lane. Use the provided telephone to identify yourself to the scale house attendant; she or he will lift the gate arm so you can proceed through. • You will be taking an IMMEDIATE LEFT once past the gate arm. Travel to the grassy area on the right just past the pond and before the white building at the end of the road to park, then walk to the white building where our guide will meet us to start the tour. If you miss the left and keep going straight (towards the smoke stack of the WTE) you will need to make a U-turn and come back. • If you mistakenly end up in the lobby of the WTE plant, you will see big graphics on the wall welcoming you to the Waste to Energy facility. That will help you know that you're not at the recycling plant. |
