Active violence/shooter situations are unpredictable and
evolve quickly. Typically, the immediate deployment of law enforcement is
required to stop the violence/shooting and mitigate harm to victims. Because
these situations are often over within minutes, before law enforcement arrives
on the scene, individuals must be prepared both mentally and physically to deal
with an active violence/shooter situation. You're at the mall, the movies, your
clubhouse and you hear gunshots. How would you react? What would you do? These
cases are rare, but they do happen. How can we take what we've learned from
these tragedies and use that information to possibly save lives? Purpose: Learn about active violence/shooter scenarios and
how to respond Facilitator: Heather Turco (Guest Presenter – Lee County
Sheriff's Office) |
