N8: The Billion Pound Game - Raising Awareness

Everyone has a part to play in safeguarding players of all contact sports from the dangers of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). A progressive and incurable neurodegenerative disease, CTE is described as sports' hidden tragedy and now known to be caused by repetitive head impacts. The Billion Pound Game is an internationally acclaimed documentary featuring Bill Gates, a former UK professional soccer player who competed alongside World Cup winners and globally famous stars. He lived in Estero with his family just up the street at Wildcat Run from 2005 until his death in 2023 from CTE. Through their charity, Head Safe Football, his wife Judith and their sons are dedicated to bringing the message of CTE to everyone who may be at risk.
