G4. Cuba Update on US Relations, Political/Economic Perspectives
November 4, 2016 | 1:00-3:00 pm
Description: Despite the thaw in Cuban-US relations, politics at home may paralyze the Cuban economy.  Most Cubans have known only socialistic state enterprise and are frightened that foreign investment and capitalism will jeopardize the main gains of the revolution such as free education, healthcare, and welfare. In this session we will look at what has transpired during the first years of diplomatic détente and what to expect for the Cuban economy in the near future.
Designed for: Anyone interested in learning more about international relations and North America’s southern neighbor
Facilitators: Bill and Lee Krein
