Description: When you’ve been chosen to act as the trustee of a trust, you must handle both money and people. You might be more worried about the financial part, but the people may prove to be the greater challenge. Your job as trustee will be infinitely easier (and you’ll be far more effective) if, right from the start, you have cordial dealings with the trust beneficiaries. In this discussion, we will cover the common mistakes trustees often make and how you can avoid them. Topics include selecting a trustee, planning for the distribution of wealth, funding your trust, consolidating your assets and how to be prepared if you become incapacitated.
