H16-13: "Social Tennis"

March 30, 2018   |  9:00-10:30 am

Description: Tennis, invented by the British army officer Major Walter Clopton Wingfield in 1873 and originally called lawn tennis, has become a worldwide sport and a great way to exercise and stay in shape. Tennis transcends all age groups and is enjoyed by young kids as well as seniors. Come learn, practice or re-learn how to play the wonderful sport of tennis from outstanding volunteer professional coaches. Beginners and those who’ve spent significant time away from the sport are strongly encouraged to attend the Friday clinics at 9:00 am January through April. Meet other members while learning basic tennis shots, court positions and strategies designed to keep the ball in play. Courts are reserved for experienced players on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 9:00 am for open, mixed play along with Tuesdays at 9:00 am for men’s tennis and Wednesday at 9:00 am for women’s tennis. Come join in on Spring Run’s tennis activities.
Designed for: Players of all skill levels
Facilitators: Glenn Mattson, Mike Bannigan, Jan Esper and John Foley
