Wine Tasting
Friday, August 24th 4:30-6:30 pm
Lakeview Room

Wine tasting is not the same as drinking it. To experience the true flavor of a wine requires that you slow down and pay attention to your senses of sight, smell, touch, as well as taste. Remember - There are no right or wrong descriptions of how a wine tastes or smells. Do not rush the tasting experience. Linger over the wine.

Wine tasting is the sensory examination and evaluation of wine. While the practice of wine tasting is as ancient as its production, a more formalized methodology has slowly become established from the 14th century onwards. Modern, professional wine tasters (such as sommeliers or buyers for retailers) use a constantly evolving, specialized terminology which is used to describe the range of perceived flavors, aromas and general characteristics of a wine. Knowing the history of the wine, the grape, the appellation the wine came from, as well as the chemistry behind things is not going to make you a better taster. For that there is no substitute for actual experience.

This is your chance to add even more experience under your belt! Join us for this special wine tasting and get pointers from a professional. $20.00 per participant (includes all wine to be tasted).

Sincerely,
Spring Run Activities
