M5: Choosing Appropriate Challenges for Your Brain (Chemical Payoffs)
January 24, 2020 · 1:00-3:00 pm
Description: What are some of the best options for developing a completely new world inside of our heads? In this workshop we will experience an activity that helps us understand how to set appropriate challenges for our brains. We will learn how to select brain challenges that result in the release of chemical cocktails and enhance self-images. We will acknowledge the presence of Mrs. Unknowing and Mr. Ignorance (relatives of our self-image) who promise to keep us comfortable, even if we become bored, burned out, and experience a lack of purpose. To challenge our adversaries, we will provide participants with powerful strategies that will lead to a mental awakening of the present (mindfulness) and to the many wonders that are right in front of us.
Purpose: Understanding your brain better for optimal use
Facilitator: Bill Furtwengler
